for everyone
I had to cheat by looking at some other entries this week, before I finally had an idea of what to do with the theme "Safe".  I had ideas earlier, but no suitable pictures to go with them, so I had honestly decided to just skip PP this week.   I still wanted to see what everyone else has done, and while doing that, had an idea that I could get a picture of!

I decided to go with the literal term, and post a picture of a safe........well, a toy that looks like a safe!  :)~

This is a picture of Matt's childhood bank. It's dusty and dirty, a little bit beat up, and the combination has long since been forgotten!  If you pick it up and shake it, there are a few coins or something rattling around in there.   It's one of the few things that Matt has kept from childhood.   It's been sitting here in the office for a while now, and is driving our son Trevor nuts because he can't open it to see how much money is in it!  :)~

Matt's bank from childhood

the combination is 1L-2R-3L-4R-5L, lol... that's a perfect idea for this, lol... and a great shot... bet that is worth a few dollars more as an old toy than the money left inside, lol

Well, that's a very good idea! A toy safe with a history!
Thanks a lot for your comment.

Heheh, I wondered if anyone would go literal on it? Maybe some one else has, but yours is the first I've seen. Bravo! I put mine up this morning, you've probably already been there. I went the opposite direction- quite existential... but then, the day I stop being existential is the day I stop breathing, so...

Well, if the box stays closed for another generation or two, both the box and the coins inside would be rather valuable. I didn't know toy safes existed. What a cute idea!

Great idea! Sounds like he's going to have to remember the combination so you can find out what's rattling in there. Might be something valuable!

Oh yeh, think Marry Poppins. My paternal grandfather was a banker in the U.S., and they gave out toys like this post WWII to encourage children to save their pennies... or pfennige (he might have been a banker in the U.S., and born here, but he spoke better German than English.)

Wonder what we'd have to give kids today... a toy shredder for their receipts so their identities aren't stolen? ;<

Great picture. This safe looks like it was loved and well used. I bet your son's curiosity it driving him nuts. I like how you took the picture from above rather than straight on. It is a great perspective.
